Alien Serial Rapist Caught in Miami Beach, FL

'A man police said is responsible for a series of rapes [in] Miami Beach is behind bars, after Miami Beach police [caught] him just moments after he allegedly tried to assault a woman Wednesday. Miami Beach Police said Arturo Ortiz Soto, 29, confessed to four other attacks dating back to 2006. All the attacks happened on Miami Beach.'

Thanks to failed Federal immigration policy, beach-goers are at the mercy of alien sexual predators. How many more 'Ortiz Sotos' are still out there?

McCain Openly Panders to Latino Immigrants

'John McCain is airing a new ad — in which he calls Hispanic Americans “God’s Children” — in his latest bid to win over that key voting bloc. The spot comes amid a major push on that front by the presumptive Republican nominee, including private meetings with community leaders, Spanish-language radio ads, the launch of regular campaign conference calls with Hispanic pastors, and speeches at high-profile gatherings like this week’s address at the League of Latin American Citizens and next Monday’s speech at National Council La Raza....'

So my question is, if Bill Clinton was the 'first Black President' then should McCain somehow pull this thing out - will he be the 'first Mexican President'?

Disney's Gun Ban Challenged Under Florida Law

'A man fired by Walt Disney World after he brought his gun to work filed a lawsuit Friday against the entertainment company. Disney officials claimed the company doesn't have to follow a new state law allowing people to bring firearms onto business properties.' Edwin Sotomayor said '"It is a big deal to me, and it is a big deal to me and thousands of people around the country that believe Disney is, you know, very un-American...."'

This post (quoted above) includes a link to SLMN's video comparing Bob Conley and Lindsey Graham. It also has a place to leave a comment on the Grahamnesty-Conley race.

The Ulster-Scots (Scots-Irish) and Dixie's Cultural Heritage

The following is a quote from the linked page which includes articles about the Ulster-Scots and the Southland. Below the quote several related links are provided as well as a link to the upcoming Orange Order parade in Belfast (streamed live).

'We came to the Appalachia from our homeland Ulster and traveled south through the colonies of America to reach a new and hopeful region to settle, farm, and call home. Having suffered the effects of rack-renting, starvation, and had no hope of owning land, which would improve the quality of our lives, it drove us to this new and strange country that tested our courage, endurance, and faith. Struggling to survive and thrive in a new place, we labored to improve the quality of our lives, our children’s lives, and the lives of future generations. Its important that we should examine our cultural heritage.'

Black Man Cursed and Abused for Defending Confederate Flag

'Just some of the abuse our Brother of Colour takes, always keeping his Southern honour in tact. On a cold morning in January, one lone demonstrator, is cursed from all sides, in the often heated debate regarding the symbolism and history behind this old flag.'

The linked post (quoted above) includes a video documenting the verbal abuse that Mr HK Edgerton has in fact frequently endured in his quest to defend the Confederate flag and Southron culture in general. A very brave man, we at SLMN salute Mr Edgerton's courage and patriotism!

Article: Is 'Black Hole' The New 'Niggardly'?

'In perhaps a new low in the ignorance, self righteousness, and over-sensitivity of African American politicians, two black officials in Dallas objected to the use of the term “black hole.” During a meeting about traffic tickets, white county commissioner Kenneth Mayfield said that an office “has become a black hole” in reference to the way paperwork would often disappear. John Wiley Price, a black commissioner, loudly objected that it should be called a “white hole,” and then a black judge Thomas Jones demanded an apology for Mayfield’s insensitivity.'

Utterly ridiculous, folks. Though hardly surprising.

Article: John McCain on Foreign Policy: Even Worse Than Bush

'Over the years, John McCain has acquired a reputation as a maverick Republican. Independents and even some Democrats who loathe George W. Bush’s foreign-policy record seem to believe that McCain would be a significant improvement. In several GOP primaries earlier this year, most notably those in New Hampshire and Michigan, nearly one third of voters who stated that they oppose the Iraq war cast ballots for McCain. That seems to defy logic....'

Article On Origin of the Crescent on the SC Flag

'The South Carolina state flag is a tourism bureau's dream — a palmetto tree that appears to be rustling in a nighttime breeze, illuminated by a perfect crescent moon. But the flag, one of the most recognizable and best-selling state banners in the nation [sic!], has nothing to do with condos or beaches, smiling faces or beautiful places. Because that's not necessarily the moon. Nearly 150 years after it was adopted as our state flag, historians and scholars still can't agree on exactly what that doohickey in the top left corner of the flag means. It's a crescent, they concede, but what exactly it stands for is a subject of some contention.'

Congressional Approval Rates Hit New Low

Public disgust with the Federal Government is breaking new records. 'Congressional approval ratings tumbled to new lows in a spate of recent polls, as high gas prices and a sagging economy continue to hurt the public’s perception of the legislative branch. In the latest Rasmussen poll, the percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings fell to single digits for the first time in the polling firm’s history. According to the July 1 survey of 1,000 likely voters, only 9 percent of respondents said Congress is doing a good or excellent job, while 52 percent surveyed said Congress was doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that category.'

Missouri Anti-illegal Immigration Law Signed

In Missouri, 'Gov. Matt Blunt signed legislation Monday that creates new restrictions on illegal immigrants and new requirements for businesses that employ them. Blunt said the new law puts Missouri “on the vanguard” of states working to crack down on illegal immigration. Missouri lawmakers included many relatively noncontroversial provisions while splitting the difference on more contentious points, such as what to do about the businesses that employ illegal immigrants. Lawmakers passed the bill on the final day of their annual session under a threat from Blunt that he would call a special session if no bill were passed.'

Belfast Parade from Ulster to be Streamed Live

We recently have found out that the twelfth live television programme of the Belfast Parade (11.00 am to 12.00 noon British time on July 12) will be streamed live on the web. Last year the BBC tried this as a pilot scheme without any pre-publicity and were delighted with the response. Apparently there were 20,000 hits on the site. For all those of us who are overseas and wish to experience a piece of Orange culture which celebrates the victory of King William III at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690....

Confederate Flag Rally to Support Bobby Tillet

Patriots and advocates of free speech will be meeting in Jacksonville, FL on July 12, 2008 to support our heritage and specifically to support Mr Bobby Tillet. As you may know, Mr Tillet is being discriminated against by BJ's because of the Confederate battleflag he flies in the back of his truck. To meet their bigotry head-on, monthly flag rallies are being held and we urge all patriots anywhere near Jacksonville to please support this worthy effort. Everyone will be meeting up at the old Publix Building across from K-mart on Normandy at 5:30 pm will then be heading out to BJ's in Orange Park. For more information, please contact Kathy at 904-545-3558 or Dawn & Bobby at 904-374-5990. Please try to make it and support Mr Tillet!
