Dixie's Ties to Ulster (pictures) part III

These are a few more pictures taken on SLMN's recent trip to Ulster to gather these materials and build connections. Below each one is a short description.

pro-Dixie mural in Ulster

More from the pro-South mural in Belfast which highlights Ulster and Ulster-Scots contributions to the Confederate States.

This part of the mural highlights the achievements of the Ulster-Scots in the early days of America, going from pioneers to presidents, as the slogan says.

Russians Losing the Propaganda War to the Feds & Georgia

'The Bush administration appears to be trying to turn a failed military operation by Georgia into a successful diplomatic operation against Russia. It is doing so by presenting the Russian actions as aggression and playing down the Georgian attack into South Ossetia on 7 August, which triggered the Russian operation. Yet the evidence from South Ossetia about that attack indicates that it was extensive and damaging.'

Texas School District Will 'Let' Teachers Carry Guns

'"When the federal government started making schools gun-free zones, that's when all of these shootings started. Why would you put it out there that a group of people can't defend themselves? That's like saying 'sic 'em' to a dog," Thweatt said in a story published Friday on the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Web site.'

It should first be said that it is a shame that legislation has to be created in order to 'allow' the exercise of this long-existing right affirmed by the Constitution.  Nevertheless, in an empire and a time such as this, with the excerpt of the Second Amendment 'shall not be infringed' intentionally and blatantly ignored by the 'powers that be,' this bold course of action taken by the Harrold Independent School District should be applauded.  God Bless the Lone Star State, and God Bless all of Dixie!

Money Bomb for Bob Conley on September 1, 2008

SLMN has learned there are efforts underway to organise a Ron Paul-style 'money bomb' for conservative Democrat candidate Bob Conley on September 1, 2008. Mr Conley is running to replace the scalawag and open-borders advocate Lindsey Graham for US Senate from South Carolina.

Dixie's Ties to Ulster (pictures) part II

These are a few pictures taken on SLMN's recent trip to Ulster to gather these materials and build connections. Below each one is a short description. We will post more tomorrow so check back!

Stonewall Jackson Centre sign in Ulster

This sign appeared along a country route south of Belfast, Ulster but we were unable to find the centre which it advertises. After some time trying, we continued with the search for Stonewall Jackson's ancestral home.

Sign on wall of Stonewall Jackson's ancestral home in Ulster

This sign appears on a wall (actually the remainder of the house) where Stonewall Jackson's family lived in Ulster before they came to Dixie. The very kind lady who owns the property chatted with us and let us take these pictures. The location was south of Belfast about half an hour or so. It took some time to find but was well worth it!

The PalmettoPatriot stands with Ulster friend and patriot (click here for his website) in what is now a nice, little garden in central Ulster where Stonewall Jackson's family once lived. The wall behind us is the remainder of their home.

'The timing of the signing of a preliminary agreement between the US and Poland to host part of Washington's controversial missile defence system on Polish soil might seem curious.'

Dixie's Ties to Ulster (pictures)

These are a few pictures taken on SLMN's recent trip to Ulster to gather these materials and build connections. Below each one is a short description. Enjoy! More will be posted tomorrow.

The PalmettoPatriot at a pro-South wall in Ulster

This mural is in an Ulster community in Belfast. The paintings (on the side of a family's home, actually) show the link between the peoples of Ulster and Dixie.

The PalmettoPatriot at Andrew Jackson's ancestral home in Ulster

The PalmettoPatriot here stands at Andrew Jackson's (though he surely had his short-comings, Jackson was the first Ulster-Scots to become President of the US) ancestral home in Ulster. It lies a very short drive outside the capital, directly on the sea. From there you have a beautiful view of the harbour, town and surrounding green hills in the distance.

McCain Open to pro-Abortion Rights Running Mate

'...John McCain told the Weekly Standard's Steve Hayes in an interview today that he was open to the prospect of a vice presidential candidate who supports abortion rights....'

It is more than comical to watch many so-called "conservative Christians" tie themselves in knots trying to justify their support for a man like McCain who has so few of their professed beliefs.

South Ossetians Angry at Georgian Invasion

Solidarity with South Ossetia!'People in Tskhinvali - the few that remain after many fled the fighting - told me they can see no future for South Ossetia in Georgia now, if they ever did. They very clearly blame Georgia for the fighting and are extremely angry with President Mikhail Saakashvili, comparing him to Adolf Hitler. Russian troops have been greeted in Tskhinvali as lifesavers.'

If we truly believe in the principles of self-determination then we should accept the patriots in South Ossetia as comrades in their struggle against a Federally-backed aggressive neighbour - Georgia - that would deny their right to exist as free and independent people. US Federal hypocrisy on this issue is truly breath-taking. They just recently backed the partition of Serbia, creating a puppet Muslim state in the Balkans. Yet the Feds oppose the Ossetians' right to rule themselves - just as they oppose Southrons' right to rule ourselves as a free people again.

Most Companies Avoid Federal Income Taxes

'Unlike the rest of us, most U.S. corporations and foreign companies doing business in the United States pay no federal income tax, according to a new report from Congress.  The study by the Government Accountability Office, expected to be released Tuesday, said two-thirds of U.S. corporations paid no federal income taxes between 1998 and 2005, and about 68 percent of foreign companies doing business in the U.S. avoided corporate taxes over the same period.'

The system of taxation in this empire is indeed oppressive, but how is it that so many giant, largely foreign companies avoid paying taxes, while the average, hard-working citizen of humble to modest means bears the burden?  This is a prime example of just how this system exploits us Southrons, forcing us to bear the (not merely) economic burden and 'rewarding' us with further tyranny!

57 Illegal Aliens Arrested at Defense Contractor

U.S. Immigration raided an Asheville [NC] plant, arresting 57 suspected illegal aliens.  It happened at Mills Manufacturing, which makes parachutes and military equipment for the Department of Defense.  Immigration officials say the workers used stolen or doctored Id’s to get jobs there.  Mills Manufacturing says [emphasis added] they did not know the ID’s were false.

Federal Lawsuit Over Confederate Flag Ban Being Heard in East Tennessee

'After 13 out-of-school suspensions for wearing clothing that had the confederate flag on it, Tommy DeFoe is continuing his fight over the right to wear the clothing, and this time a federal jury could make history with their decision.  Tommy DeFoe is out of school, but now he’s in court wearing a belt buckle with a Confederate flag like the one that got him suspended from a school in Anderson County.  A distant relative of a Confederate veteran, DeFoe is suing the school system, claiming it's his heritage and right to free speech while the school system says their ban is justified because it might offend someone.'

The fact that this case has already had to go this far is a sure sign indeed that far too many folks today have no reverence for, along with our Southron culture, the Constitution, its Bill of Rights, and more specifically, the First-Amendment right to free speech.  Still, we should all take comfort and find hope in the fact that young Tommy DeFoe has taken such a patriotic stand.

The Lincoln of Bolivia Likely to Remain in Power

'Unofficial results gave Mr Morales a convincing win, and he promised to continue his reforms, including the nationalisation of key industries.  Four of six opposition governors, who have led protests against the president and are demanding more autonomy, also won the right to stay in office.'

As we have reported in the past, the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, is a centralistic tyrant, seeking to deny the people of Santa Cruz their right to self-determination and their desired autonomy.  We Southrons know full and well what happens when a sectional president seeks to amass power for an oppressive, central government.  Still, the fact that the majority of opposition governors, too, will remain in power is a sign that those Morales seeks to subjugate will not simply hand over their rights and liberty.

University's 'Speech Code' Ruled Unconstitutional

'A federal appeals court has agreed with a lower court's ruling that Temple University's so-called "Speech Code" is an unconstitutional restriction on the First Amendment rights of its students..."Universities are supposed to be the marketplace of ideas.  But speech codes, like the one that was enforced at Temple, stifle student speech and really are a danger to Christian and conservative students on campus.  And the Center for Academic Freedom is here to represent them and protect their rights to speak and to proclaim the Gospel."'

Confederate Flag Rally in Jacksonville, FL Against BJ's

On August 9, 2008, Southron patriots met to once again boldly assert our rights and protest the unconstitutional policies of the company BJ's, which has banned Confederate flags from being displayed on employees' vehicles.  Supporters of Mr. Bobby Tillet's stand and participants in such flag rallies have joined together to form an organization called Flag Keepers.

Members are planning to continue with protests against the anti-Southron company, as well as make signs, hand out flyers, and even create a MySpace page to spread the word concerning their cause (which is, in fact, our cause - the cause of the Southron people as a whole).

A meeting concerning these efforts is being planned, and as always, SLMNews will be sure to keep y'all updated as information arises.  Below are pictures from the event on the ninth of this month - we would like to thank Dawn, Michael, and Carl for these gems.

President of Georgia Insists 'His' Troops Have Left South Ossetia

'[President] Saakashvili added: "The United States and the world community should stop intervention and invasion of my [emphasis added] sovereign country.  Basically, I think this is not about Georgia anymore.  This is about basic values of humanity, of American values that we always ourselves believed in.  This is all about future of the world order.  I think the U.S. is the most powerful country in the world.  I think the U.S. has lots of leverage and I think there are lots of diplomatic means that this could be done through.'

Please note how Georgia is not the citizens' country, but rather 'his;' Georgian troops are also 'his.'  Such terminology is quite reminiscent of how another tyrant, one Mr. Lincoln, viewed the South (among other things) as 'his.'  It should be no surprise then that Saakashvili has clung so tightly to the empire now ruled by George W. Bush.  'Order' has all too often been the excuse for empires to invade other lands.  Also bear in mind that few would honestly argue that Russia's decision to send its own troops into the area was entirely altruistically-based.  The people of South Ossetia voted overwhelmingly in favor of independence, and it was and will remain their right to live independently.  Perhaps Mr. Saakashvili should actually study this human right as well: the right of self-determination.

Feds May Give $600-Million 'Anti-Poverty Grant' to the Philippines

'The Philippines is looking at getting as much as $600 million in multi-year poverty-reduction grant from the US government’s Millennium Challenge Corp. (MCC), a ranking Finance official said.  An MCC team is in the country this week to hear proposals of the government on specific projects to be covered, Finance Undersecretary Gil S. Beltran said in an interview late last week.'

Such wasteful spending, too, should come as no surprise from an empire driving itself into even more mammoth debt and digging its own grave in other respects.  This potential 'gift' to a foreign country is only an attempt by Washington to control, and these funds belong to the people, the taxpayers from whom they were 'collected.'  Besides, one does not have to look as far as the Philippines to find those not doing so well financially (thanks to the eternal failure of government 'intervention' in the market).
