'The recent economic bailout package from Congress seemed to offer the fiercely free-market Barr a chance to reassert himself in the campaign’s waning weeks. And when the legislation was announced earlier this month, the media spotlight briefly turned back to him for the Libertarian rejoinder to the plan. Barr says that the bailout has, in fact, increased the interest in his candidacy. His rallies, he notes, have been better attended of late and he claims his campaign website’s traffic has peaked. “It is not just ammunition against McCain, but against both candidates,” Barr said, “because it so graphically illustrates the fact that both of them are Big Government candidates.”
